Challenge

A crypto, tax and business law firm and its affiliated tax firm shared one marketing seat, three web properties with overlapping service pages, a year without analytics, and a lead flow nobody could attribute. Prospects research for weeks before they call, increasingly inside AI answer engines, so the sites had to work for search engines, answer engines and intake at once.

What I did

  • Led the ground-up rebuild of gordonlaw.com and gordontax.com, both live within 12 weeks of my first day: new information architecture, a flattened URL structure, roughly 40 service pages reassigned across the two domains by search intent to end cross-domain cannibalization, attorney bylines and bios for E-E-A-T, and schema on every page.
  • Designed and launched a 235-term tax glossary on gordontax.com with DefinedTerm and FAQPage schema, more than double the largest competitor in the category, and turned it into a 235-video YouTube program with five on-camera presenters, recorded in weekly waves and released one video per weekday.
  • Redesigned the HubSpot lead flow for two brands and four web properties: lifecycle stages, six practice-area routing paths, a 3-call/2-email cadence with a 2-hour first-response SLA, Clio handoff, and marketing-sourced versus attorney-generated attribution.
  • Restored GA4 across all three properties after roughly a year without data and built the firm's first consolidated Looker Studio dashboard, with a weekly partner report and monthly review cadence.
  • Wrote the Article Production SOP and Master Prompt: a six-stage process with a built-in Illinois attorney-advertising compliance scan that takes an article from topic to publish-ready in 2 to 3 business days, shipped as a package (article, video script, .gov verification memo, JSON-LD) on a 60-day-ahead calendar of 4 new and 4 refreshed articles a month.
  • Built the Marketing Pulse, an AI-driven weekday briefing that scans Reddit, YouTube, news, IRS and Congressional sources and live search demand, then posts ready-to-use social drafts, comment targets and a question-of-the-day video script to staff in Google Chat with no manual effort.

What changed

  • Both firm websites relaunched inside the first quarter, with service pages that no longer compete with each other.
  • Article production cut from six drafting passes to one or two, with compliance checked before a partner ever sees a draft.
  • A lead pipeline, analytics and executive dashboard the partners run the firm on; outcome figures are the firm's to share.
  • A marketing function with a videographer and content producer as a direct report, law clerks on article research, and a social media and content coordinator role scoped and hired.
On YouTube

Two channels, one video a weekday.

Since July the program has shipped long-form explainers and a daily short across the Gordon Law and Gordon Tax channels. A few of the long-form pieces from the first hundred days:
